Romans 12:12
“rejoicing in hope, patient in tribulation, continuing steadfastly in prayer;”
Romans 12:12 NKJV
To rejoice in hope is to have that unfaltering assurance in God's Word as fact, knowing that our hope of glory is secured for us in heavenly places for the eternal ages to come, simply because God's Word is true and cannot be broken. Our hope is built on nothing less than trusting in the Cross of Christ and taking God at His Word.
To be patient in tribulation is to know and accept that in this world we will have tribulation, but to wait patiently in our suffering without murmurings. We are to be of good cheer, knowing that His strength is sufficient to see us through every difficulty of life because He has already overcome sin and death and we are united with Him and His victory.
To be constant in prayer is to recognize that prayer is one of the chief weapons of the spiritual warfare in which all Christians are engaged. As saints of God we should all be instant in prayer, constantly lifting our hearts and voice to the Lord in prayers of thanks and praise and intercession and requests, and laying them before the throne of God's grace in the name of Jesus knowing that greater is He that is in us than he that is in the world.
How can we emancipate ourselves from the limitations that life deals us?
The last in this trio of commandments from Paul opens the door for the other two to be true, we can rejoice in hope and be patient in affliction because we have been faithful in prayer. No matter our situation, we can pray joyfully because of our hope in Christ.
We can remain patient, persevering through affliction, by presenting our requests and intercessions to God with thanksgiving. Prayer is God's gift to us so that we can be patient and joyful, even when things don't appear to be going well. We can be joyful in hope and patient in affliction because we are faithful in prayer.
We need to know with every struggle there is always God there to help me get through. We need to not go into despair over my struggles because there is always a way out with God’s helping hand. Always be in prayer to help you through your tribulations!!!
Father thank You for this day and the Word of God and the Godly instructions that are laid out for the Church in the epistles of Paul. Lord open the windows of heaven and rain down your abundant blessings over my friend and family today. Lord please help us to rejoice in hope, endure in tribulation, and persevere in prayer, as we press on to the goal of our calling. Lord so until that day of ultimate and victorious joy, please ransom our hearts from discouragement by the power of hope from Your Holy Spirit. Lord use my friend to be someone’s blessing today.
Father, we love You. Amen!
