Seasoned Or Sour

Colossians‬ 4:5-6

“Be wise in the way you act toward outsiders; make the most of every opportunity. Let your conversation be always full of grace, seasoned with salt, so that you may know how to answer everyone.”

Colossians‬ 4:5-6‬ NIV‬‬

Jesus warned us that we would have to answer to God for every idle word we share with others. In our time when social media echoes with mean-spirited, ugly, and divisive words, we must hear the Lord's warning about choosing our words carefully.

These verses challenge us to be even more vigilant about what we say and how we say it. They emphasize how significant our influence is on those who don't know Christ or on the outside of the family of God. We want to seize every opportunity to open the hearts of unbelievers to Jesus.

When we are around those who are not Christians, we must show kindness, demonstrate care, and exercise control in the way we use our speech. The eternal destiny of those around us may be resting on our conversations with them. Let that soak in a moment.

People are watching, they sit back and observe. If our lives consistently reflect Christ and what we believe, it will not only win the opportunity to speak truth when the time is right, but also be a living example. This is why, we are to always be prepared, behaving wisely in our relationships and seizing opportunities as they arise.

Our behavior should not be compromised when walking in the company of others, in our everyday lives and our desire and delight should be to share the good news of the gospel of grace, with all who cross our path but it should be done with clarity and simplicity.

As Christians we are called to conduct ourselves in godly wisdom, which is given us from above and to behave in a manner that is fitting for a child of God. So that it will win us the right to share the good news of the gospel of Christ Jesus.

Let's season our speech with care. Let's take advantage of every opportunity we have to open the hearts of others to grace of Jesus!!!

Father thank You for this day and Your life changing Word. Lord let Your abundant blessings flow like rain over friend and family today. Lord help us to conduct ourselves as is most expedient, with all wisdom and grace in our everyday life. Lord help us as we seek to display a winsome attitude with all people, but especially toward those who do not yet know You as their Lord and Savior. Lord use our lives and our words to open people's hearts to You. Lord help my friend and I to make the most of our opportunities to share about Jesus to those who have not yet heard of His gracious salvation. Be a blessing.

Father, we love You. Amen !
