Indescribable Gift Of Love

John‬ ‭3‬:‭16‬-‭17

“For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him.”

‭‭John‬ ‭3‬:‭16‬-‭17‬ ‭NIV‬‬

The motivating factor behind God’s redemptive plan for every man and woman is His love for us. He not only loves us, He so loves us. Later, the apostle Paul sought to describe this love by speaking of its “breadth, and length, and depth, and height” (Ephesians 3:18), “God is love” (1 John 4:16), and this deep emotion is what brings about the possibility of our redemption; knowing Him in the intimate relationship of Father and child. God’s love for you is the motivating cause of salvation.

Salvation is not spelled “d-o,” but “d-o-n-e.” Many people, however, think their own good works are the pathway to eternal life.

Consequently, they do this or do that, or they don’t do this or don’t do that, all in order to earn salvation. But our salvation is done. It is already purchased for us with the blood of Christ on the cross. Our part is to believe, to transfer our trust from ourselves and our own efforts to His finished work on the cross of Calvary.

Our salvation, the free pardoning of our sin, and the promise of abundant and eternal life in Christ did not come without cost. Freedom is never free, it is always bought with blood. What a consequence. What a promise.

Those without Christ are perishing, but those in Christ have the eternal promise of “everlasting life.” This comes not from our own human efforts, morals, or good deeds, but the promise is to those who realize that God’s love reaches down to us, was made possible through the payment of Christ, and is received by grace through faith alone, believing in the Lord Jesus Christ.

The forgiveness of sin, life everlasting, and the gates of heaven itself are flung open wide to whosoever will believe on the Lord Jesus Christ for salvation. There is no need for even one member of the human race to perish, for God’s invitation for salvation is open to all. The only condition to receive His free gift of salvation is to believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and you will be saved.

The eternal Son of God set aside His glory and was born into the fallen race of man, to die on a tree at Calvary for your sin and mine. If you were to travel to the furthest reaches of the universe, or go back to the beginning of time, there you'll find love for: "God is love." And the most precious thing in the universe is to know the reality of His love, by faith.

This verse shows us that God loved us in a big way. God saw us in the position we were in, separated from Him and He just couldn’t stand it. He did an extravagant thing. He gave His best for you and me to be able to know Him. Its easy at times to look at ourselves and others and see all the flaws. All the stuff that is wrong and reasons why we or someone else is unlovable. However, God doesn’t see us that way.

This much-loved verse of Scripture outlines the glorious gospel of grace clearly and simply. It tells that Christ died a sacrificial death on the Cross to pay the price for our sin and break its power in our lives. It tells that Jesus was sent as an expression of the indescribable love of God for us. And all you have to do is believe by faith!!!

Thank You, Father, for sending Jesus to die for our sins. Thank You that His blood has paid the full penalty for our sins and that the power of sin in our lives has been broken through Him. Thank You that Christ’s sacrifice reveals Your immense love for mankind, and for me. We just want to give You thanks and praise for this free gift of salvation that is open to whosoever will come. Lord use my friend to be a blessing to someone today.

Father, we love You. Amen !
