God’s Complete Reliable Word

2 Peter‬ ‭1‬:‭19‬-‭21‬

“We also have the prophetic message as something completely reliable, and you will do well to pay attention to it, as to a light shining in a dark place, until the day dawns and the morning star rises in your hearts. Above all, you must understand that no prophecy of Scripture came about by the prophet’s own interpretation of things. For prophecy never had its origin in the human will, but prophets, though human, spoke from God as they were carried along by the Holy Spirit.”

We live in a dark world where evil reigns, despite advancements in medicine and technology. As Christians, we are called to live by faith in God's Word, not by our feelings or the world's influence.

The Bible reveals our salvation through Christ and the end from the beginning. Our faith rests on the witness of God's apostles and prophets, and our trust is built on the sure Word of prophecy found in Scripture.

We must heed God's written Word, a light shining in the darkness. As Psalm 119:105 says, "Your word is a lamp for my feet, a light on my path." When we read or hear the Bible, we receive God's Word, breathed out by those carried along by the Holy Spirit. What a wonder that God chose people to convey His message directly to us through His Spirit.

These verses reveal key truths about Scripture. First, it originates from God, not human ideas. God speaks and reveals Himself, telling us about His nature, values, and actions.

Secondly He uses human authors, in tune with the Holy Spirit, to write His exact message. We are not left in darkness; we have His supernatural Word.

I encourage you to love, spend time in, digest, memorize, and meditate on God's Word day and night. Treasure it and keep its truth ever before us, so we may recognize these prophetic times.

We are not children of this dark world, but children of the light. We have the prophetic Word, confirmed in Scripture, which we must heed. The day of Christ's Second Coming is near, when He will establish His kingdom!!!

Father thank You for this day and the sure Word of prophecy in the Bible. Pour out Your blessings on my friends and family. Thank You for telling us what will happen before it happens, so we may believe. Thank You that Your Word is a light to our path. May we stand firm on Your truth until You come to take us home. Use us to be the light of Your Word to all. Be a blessing.
