Isaiah 61:10-11
“I delight greatly in the Lord; my soul rejoices in my God. For he has clothed me with garments of salvation and arrayed me in a robe of his righteousness, as a bridegroom adorns his head like a priest, and as a bride adorns herself with her jewels. For as the soil makes the sprout come up and a garden causes seeds to grow, so the Sovereign Lord will make righteousness and praise spring up before all nations.”
Isaiah 61:10-11 NIV
There are many things that people take great joy or delight in. It can be jobs, positions, family, children, friends, things that they have or most anything else. Most commonly are things that people have or can do. They find their strength in certain things or certain hobbies that can make them happy. Excitement arises when they have those objects or are doing those hobbies. While these things can be good, they are only temporary. The delight in them usually wears off quickly and they seeking bigger and better things. The words that we read here, so rich. The imagery. I will greatly rejoice in the Lord. Not just rejoice, greatly rejoice. My soul shall exalt in God. That’s joy that’s found in exalting God. Exalt in God. Why? Because He has clothed me with the garments of salvation. Can you just picture that in your life today? We are clothed, all who’ve put your trust in Jesus. We are clothed with the garments of salvation. That’s what we are wearing today. The garments of salvation. He has covered me with the robe of righteousness. Picture this. This is your clothing today. The robe of the righteousness of Jesus. That’s what you’re wearing today, like a groom or a bride decked out, adorned with beauty. That’s who you are today. And just like the earth brings forth fruit gardens, cause what is sewn in it to sprout up, so God is causing righteousness and praise to sprout up in your life, in my life, in His people all over the world before all the nations. What a cause of great joy and rejoicing to know that the gifts of God are glorious and without number. Who can count the many blessings that are showered down on each one of us day by day. He pours out gifts of the spirit and gifts for the soul and all His many gifts and graces to us are yes and amen in Christ. The greatest gift of all is the garment of His salvation and the clean robe of His own precious righteousness, for greater than the gifts of God is the Giver of all Who has come to dwell in the hearts of all who believe on His name. May we cultivate an attitude of humble gratitude and joyful thanksgiving, for it is good to sing praises to the God of our salvation. This should cause extreme delight in God’s great love and mercy for you. Find your strength in what God has done for you and rejoice in that!!!
Father thank You this day and the breathe of Your Word that gives us life. Lord pour out Your abundant blessings today upon my friend and family today. Lord thank You for Your many gifts of pardon, peace, and purity, of faith, hope, and love. Father above all, we bless and thank You, in Jesus' name, for the greatest of all gifts in the person of Your dearly beloved Son, Who died to redeem us with His precious blood and Who lives forever within our hearts. Lord use my friend today to be the touch of Your love to all today. Daddy we love You amen. Be a blessing. Love ya !
