Blessed by God’s anchor

Psalms‬ ‭146:5-8

“Blessed are those whose help is the God of Jacob, whose hope is in the Lord their God. He is the Maker of heaven and earth, the sea, and everything in them— he remains faithful forever. He upholds the cause of the oppressed and gives food to the hungry. The Lord sets prisoners free, the Lord gives sight to the blind, the Lord lifts up those who are bowed down, the Lord loves the righteous.”

‭‭Psalms‬ ‭146:5-8‬ ‭NIV‬‬

As we study the history of man and his relationship with God, we see mankind in an almost constant state of rebellion. God has always instructed us how to live even though it has been done in various ways over the ages and it has all been based on His absolute purity and Holiness. However, mankind has often blamed God for our own failure to live up to the standard He has provided. God is the source of our hope. We don’t trust in humans, governments or offices of power. He is our Provider and Protector. He is our rock, fortress and strength. Our help in trouble. Our help and hope must be in our personal God not in one belonging to a friend or family member. We exalt God who made all things by His power. He made heaven, earth and the sea as His first preparations for life. God always has a plan. Our God is a God of order. We see this in the creation account. He first set the habitats with perfect conditions and then filled them with life. He knows what He’s doing as He brings order to the world around us. God is the One we praise. He is worthy of our trust. He gives us help and offers hope because of Jesus. He created the sun, moon, stars and set the boundaries of the seas. He is able to care for the things in our world that concern us too. When we wonder where we can go for help, we only need to remember the strength of our Creator who makes all things well. When we consider all that is taught in scripture, we know that we all will die and we will face judgment. Behind the scenes there is a battle going on between God and Satan for each of us and our eternal destiny. God has already won the victory even though we do not see it with our physical eyes. This victory was won when Jesus rose from the dead to live forever. There is a battle. God has won. We must choose sides. We can choose the Lord’s side and have eternal life.

So when life seems out of control, seek the One who oversees all things. When we exhaust all possible ways to find a resolution, know that we can find hope in Him. After discovering God faithful in this, He will be the first place we go not the one we discover after we have exhausted our own resources. How blessed are those who have their help and hope in Jesus. The floods may rise, the winds may buffet, the devil may rage in the air, our bodies may be claimed by the earth, but that anchor in Jesus above will always hold!!!

Father thank You for this day and being the giver of all good things, we thank You for the wonderful life You have given us. Lord open the storehouses of Your abundant blessings let them fall upon my friend and family today. Lord we have been blessed far beyond what we ever expected or even dreamed and we know we do not deserve anything from You. Lord even though we have failed You so many times in so many ways You have forgiven us. Lord use us and our lives and all You have given us to Your glory. Lord give my friend a heart of compassion and bless those who are less fortunate today. Daddy we love you amen. Be a blessing. Love ya !!
